Moda Restaurant, Brisbane

It was a drizzling rainy night… we booked a table at Moda Restaurant but Little Monster was deep in sleep so Mr F had to drop me off in front of the restaurant while I rushed inside with the sleepy baby in the pram… a Spanish man came to help me and then I realised Moda is an outdoor restaurant… not exactly outdoor but a covered glamourous dining area with chandeliers!

The service at Moda was impeccable! The Spanish maître d came over a few times to check if our baby needed anything and the lovely young waitress was very kind! She explained the menu to us and introduced the today’s special and the way she described it sound really deliciouxx so without hesitation I ordered the “Crispy Pork Belly with Pears and Goat Cheese Dumplings“.  The pork was cooked to perfect, suckling juicy meat with crispy crackling pork skin.

Mr F ordered the Angel Hair with Scallop, Calamari, Prawn and Aioli but he was a bit disappointed, partly because the pasta came in broken pieces, not to what he expected… in fact he said it looked a bit like Chinese stir fried noodles… I tried a few bites and it’s not as bad as he described but I also didn’t like the broken pasta though I’ve to say the scallops were sensational!

We also ordered some Fries with Sea Salt as side and it’s delicious! Next time I would like to come back and try their tapas😛

  1. great review! all the food you tried looks awesome, but it’s unfortunate the pasta was broken! when i went there, i didn’t really enjoy it but perhaps i didn’t order the right stuff. i might have to give it another go!
