I always walked pass George’s Paragon, no matter at Mt Tamborine or Brisbane’s Riverside, but strangely enough I had never dined in there before. We were at Hope Island yesterday and didn’t know where we could get some decent lunch, Little Monster’s godmother recommended us to George’s Paragon for their “half-price lunch menu”. “Half-price”? Is that true? We arrived just before 12noon and the restaurant was already packed! Little Monster’s godmother did warn us there is usually a long long queue! Luckily we had a table next to the marina, the waterfront view was stunning! The interior decor is all Greek inspired, with the colour scheme of blue and white, and of course the paintings of Santorini.
I chose the Seafood Chowder as my main ($10.2), Mr F had a Spaghetti Marinara with prawns, scallops, mussels, barramundi, calamari ($19.2), and Little Monster had the Fish Cocktails with Chips ($15, lunch and dinner same price). Since we had no expectations whatsoever, the dishes turned out were quite spectacular (especially for this sort of price at a luxury resort area)! The chowder was full of seafood, they even had a dash of lobster oil to make it look fancier :P Mr F was very impressed with the pasta, this may be not as perfect as Grappino Trattoria’s at Paddington, but this came really close. The waiter even came with a grater to shred the parmesan cheese in front of you!
