What would you do on your birthday? Have a romantic dinner with your boyfriend? Going away for a luxury holiday? Have you ever thought of dining out for free? Hakataya Ramen offers free ramen on your birthday! Just show them your ID and you can choose your favourite ramen for free
We arrived at Sunnybank Plaza’s Hakataya at 7pm, unfortunately all the ramen were sold out! So we drove to nearby Market Square and try our luck! We waited for about 20 minutes and finally we got a seat!
We’ve been to Market Square’s Hakataya for several times with Little Monster, some people may worry there’s no room to fit a PRAM, yes… that could be true… but if you don’t mind squeezing a little bit it DOES work
It says in Japanese how does Hakataya produce their signature Tonkotsu Pork Bone soup base. I’ve recently returned from Kyushu, Japan and I’ve to say Hakataya is really authentic!
On their menu there are only 4 types of ramen (all in Tonkotsu soup base) I chose Char Siu Men for my freebie. If you are hunger for more noodles just order free Kaedama from one of the friendly Japanese staff.
The complimentary spicy Japanese pickles Takana was my favourite! In the old days at the Surfers Paradise shop it used to be all-you-can-eat and people gone crazy and kept refilling.
Mr F ordered a pork soup flavoured rice Ton-Meshi to share with Little Monster, it’s a bit too salty to our liking.
Thank you Hakataya! We had a wonderful birthday dinner
