This is so far the best French we had this year :) We have been to Brent’s for couple of times and every time there’s always surprises! Brent’s features a Modern French menu created by the chef owner Brent Farrell. The location is a bit unusual, there are no shops or restaurants next to it but rather it’s situated in the suburban area with all the old houses. There are only street parking spots and Miskin St is a very very steep road, I found it tricky wearing my high heels and pushing the pram at the same time :P This is our first time bring Little Monster to fine dining, luckily he behaved very well for the entire night!
Amuse Bouche is the Deep Fried Lamb Tongue. Very interesting!
My favourite entree of the night: Wild Mushroom Cappuccino with Truffle Oil. Tell you a little secret… I ordered this especially for Little Monster because he loves truffles :P OMG! I am kind of regret introducing truffles to him since Kingsleys.
Pasta Dura Bread, Parmesan and Truffle Butter – this has been our favourite dish and we order it every time without hesitation.
Slow Cooked Eye Fillet with Mustard Dauphinois and Spring Onion Gel. Mr F couldn’t take meat with blood so he requested “no blood” and it turned out a bit over cooked to my liking.
Crispy Confit Duck, Butternut Pumpkin, Eureka Lemon and Liquorice. The duck confit was the highlight of the dinner! Crispy duck skin wrapped around the soft juicy duck meat, really deliciouxxx!!!
Mr F had been enjoying the “dining experience” so much and of course he couldn’t leave without a dessert, Date Cake with Pedro Ximenez, Caramelised Banana and White Chocolate Icecream was such a great ending to complete the night. It’s one of the best desserts we have for a while :)
