Penang has the most authentic Malaysian food and I always miss the beautiful stirred fried noodles Char Kway Teow! Tonight the lovely couple Mr and Mrs J invited us to this little restaurant at Runcorn called “Taste of Penang” and I am really grateful to have such a wonderful meal with them! The food is authentic and delicioux! Yum Yum!
It’s a tiny restaurant with 2 tables inside and 6-8 tables outside
Our entree is Chee Cheong Fun, a type of rice noodle rolls which is light and soft. The Malaysian version is different from the Chinese ones, which is served with a kind of black sweet sauce similar to hoisin sauce, topped with deep fried garlic and white sesame.
Satay Beef with Peanut Sauce
Rotti is soft and fluffy
Deep Fried Tofu with Sweet Chilli Sauce and Peanuts
Tonight’s special Asam Laksa – a sour soup noodle with shredded fish which is listed at Number 7 at World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods by CNN Go in 2011.
Once again thank you Mr J & J, we had a wonderful night with authentic Penang Malaysian food, we would definitely come back for more Chow Kway Teow!!!
